Home Access Lab publishes original educational calculators and guides. We aim to make assumptions visible, distinguish federal reference standards from local residential requirements, and state when a qualified professional or official agency must verify a decision.

Sources

We prioritize U.S. government agencies and other primary sources for rules, programs, and public data. Contractor prices and construction allowances are labeled as broad planning estimates.

Safety and scope

We do not diagnose conditions, prescribe equipment, certify designs, determine code compliance, or guarantee funding. Medical and functional questions belong with the appropriate licensed clinician; design, structural, code, and permit questions belong with qualified local professionals.

Advertising independence

Advertising and affiliate relationships do not determine calculator formulas, guide conclusions, or source selection. Paid relationships must be labeled.

Corrections

Material corrections are made promptly when identified. Pages show review dates where timing is especially relevant.
